Top 5 Video Games Coming in October 2023

Typically, October is the month with the most videogame releases each year. Although June alone saw the release of three game of the year contenders in 2023, October certainly saw the most of high-profile titles. There are upcoming video games that won’t even be listed in this article yet may have topped the charts in earlier months. This month, we have 3 honourable mentions. The latest NHL simulation from EA is NHL 24. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise is going back to its 2D roots with Sonic Superstars. Additionally, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is the first game to bring the first five titles in the Metal Gear franchise to modern consoles. Arriving in October 2023: The Top 5 Video Games are:

5. Forza Motorsport – October 10

NHL 24 was just beat out by Forza Motorsport for the top spot on The Top 5 Video Games Coming in October 2023. Forza Horizon 5, the last game in the franchise, is a strong candidate for the title of greatest racing simulator of all time. More than 500 vehicles and more than 800 improvements will be included in this latest Forza game. It makes a bold statement that Forza Motorsport will no longer use series numbers, almost hinting that this game would be the last in the series and perhaps setting a new bar for quality. Only PC and Xbox Series X/S will be able to play Forza Motorsport.

4. Alan Wake II – October 27

Alan Wake II is the follow-up to a 2010 Xbox 360 classic. The first version was a third-person action adventure game with survival horror elements. Author Alan Wake and novel protagonist Saga Anderson will both be playable avatars. Control, made by Remedy, was their most well-liked game to date. Alan Wake II will be a genuine contender for game of the year if they can combine the storytelling excellence of the first Alan Wake with the gameplay excellence of Control. There will be PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions of Alan Wake II.

3. Assassin’s Creed Mirage – October 5

Once more, Assassin’s Creed is changing things up again. It was one of those franchises for a while that became too popular and had a phoney release every year. It then gave itself a reboot with additional RPG components for the fantastic Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla trilogy. The brand is returning to its roots with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which features a smaller map, linear plot, and a stealth emphasis while taking place in Baghdad in the ninth century. Mirage was an easy choice for the third slot on The Top 5 Video titles Arriving in October 2023 because modern Assassin’s Creed titles are huge. Except for the Switch, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available on all platforms.

2. Super Mario Bros. Wonder – October 20

Super Mario Bros. Wonder has stunning visuals! It is the first Super Mario Bros. side-scrolling game created for the Switch. The New Super Mario games were enjoyable, but they lacked the enchantment of the Super Mario platformers from before the Nintendo 64. Additionally, Nintendo was producing them rather quickly. The Super Mario Bros. Wonder development team was given freedom to work without a strict schedule and decided to focus on the “secrets and mystery” that the franchise had lost interest in since primarily switching to 3D. Super Mario Bros. Wonder should be the top game on The Top 5 Video Games Coming in October 2023, which is shocking. But that only shows how bizarre this month is. Super Mario Bros. Wonder will only be available on the Switch.

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – October 20

The top spot among the top five video games The second Spider-Man movie from Marvel will debut in October 2023. The Spider-Man video games from Insomniac are fantastic. However, Spider-Man: Miles Morales seemed to be only half as fun as the first Spider-Man. In a story featuring Venom (and maybe some amusing Venom powers), Spider-Man 2 efforts to pair up Peter and Miles. The fact that it is being referred to as “2” indicates that it will be a far bigger game than Miles Morales was. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will only be available on the PS5.
