Brandon Moreno, currently holding the No. 2 ranking, is determined to regain his place in the title contention. Steve Erceg shares a similar ambition, but his journey appears to be more daunting.

Both fighters have faced defeats against the current champion, Alexandre Pantoja—Moreno has lost to him three times. Compounding Erceg’s challenges, he has also experienced a knockout defeat at the hands of Kai Kara-France, who is leading the charge for the next title opportunity.

With both athletes needing a victory, the pressure is particularly intense for Erceg. He is currently on a two-fight losing streak, and while his position in the UFC isn’t immediately threatened, another defeat could significantly hinder his chances of ever contending for the title again.

Erceg is now ranked No. 8, but a victory would propel him into the Top 5.

In addition to the thrilling main event, the co-main event will feature the always thrilling Drew Dober vs. Manuel Torres. Any altercation with Dober could result in a performance bonus.

Similarly, of all the fights on the event, the Kelvin Gastelum vs. Joe Pyfer match has the most potential for a sudden knockout. According to Gastelum, he is technically finished competing at welterweight, thus he should be at his most comfortable weight of 185 pounds.

Few middleweights possess the raw power that Pyfer does, and I have a feeling Gastelum will be right in the mix, testing his striking skills.

Are you eager to see the standout prospects on the card? Raul Rosas Jr. will kick off the main card with one of the toughest challenges of his early career. He faces off against Vince Morales, a seasoned fighter who may be fighting for his place in the UFC.

Morales enters this bout on a two-fight losing streak and has faced promising newcomers in consecutive matches. In February, he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Elijah Smith, a recent standout from the Dana White Contender Series.

Stay tuned for coverage of the results and live updates on the event’s top finishes.
