USATF Championships 2023: Sha’Carri Richardson wins the 100m title in 10.82 seconds

Sha’Carri Richardson once again made the headlines by winning the Ladies’ 100m run occasion at the USATF Titles 2023.

Tamari Davis and Brittany Brown, among others, were competing in a crowded field in Oregon to win the US national title. However, Richardson ended up finishing the race first, earning the top spot on the podium.

Sha’Carri Richardson got her first ticket to the World Championships, which will be held in Budapest in August, with this victory.

After posting a strong performance in the preliminary round, Richardson continued her winning streak. She finished in 10.71 seconds, which was also the best time in the world. Yet, simply a day after the fact, Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson blitzed the 100m in 10.65s at the Jamaican Titles.

When the stage was set at the US title finals, Sha’Carri Richardson had only one thing at the forefront of her thoughts, and that was to bring back home the gold. She changed over a decent begin serious areas of strength for a, timing in a period of 10.82 seconds.

With a time of 10.90 seconds, Brittany Brown came in second, and Tamari Davis came in third with a time of 10.99 seconds.

Richardson stated to the broadcaster in an interview with NBC immediately following the end of the race:

“I’m not back, I’m better.”

At the Miramar Invitational earlier this year, Richardson ran the women’s 100 meter race in 10.57 seconds, which was the fourth-fastest time ever. However, due to its wind-aided nature, the record was unable to be legally registered.

Richardson has maintained consistency with her results ever since, consistently finishing in sub-11 seconds. At the Doha Diamond League, Richardson also ran in 10.76 seconds, which is now the third-fastest time of the year.
