Usher kept up his momentum with the announcement of his “Usher: Past Present Future” tour, which coincides with the release of his new album on Friday and his appearance during the Super Bowl halftime show two days later.
The singer plans to begin the 24-city tour on August 20 in Washington, DC. He just finished his two-year “My Way: The Las Vegas Residency.” He will visit Brooklyn, Miami, Atlanta, and serve as the opening act at Los Angeles’ Inuit Dome throughout the tour. On October 28 and 29, the tour will end with two nights at Chicago’s United Center.
On February 7 at 10 a.m. local time, fans will be able to purchase presale tickets through Citi and Verizon. Tickets will go on general sale on February 12 at 10 a.m. local time. They can also be purchased on resale websites like Seatgeek and Stubhub.
Prior to the announcement of the tour, Usher had been on a scorching run. His ninth album, “Coming Home,” which features guest appearances by Burna Boy, Latto, H.E.R., 21 Savage, and others, is scheduled for release on February 9. He is now preparing for this release. And he’ll be performing on one of the largest stages in the world—the Super Bowl Halftime show—two days from now. Additionally, he just revealed that he will be playing as the main act at the Lovers & Friends event, which will take place in Las Vegas on May 4 and feature Janet Jackson and Backstreet Boys.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” said Usher of the Halftime show. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
