Wendy’s knows something good is on the way with Frosty’s. Dessert is a favorite with most people. To make our days a little brighter, the fast food chain has announced that it’s expanding its Frosty range with all-new limited edition flavors.
In the past, Wendy’s has offered several other delicious limited edition flavors, including the seasonal Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Frosty. And now, it’s back with a new nostalgic flavor perfect for spring: Orange Dreamsicle Frosty.
Limited Edition flavor will be available on Tuesday, March 19th (also the first day of spring), temporarily replacing the Vanilla Frosty flavor. (The chocolate flavor will continue to be available for the entire life of Orange Dreamsicle, as Wendy’s announced in a media press release.)
“The Orange Dreamsicle Frosty is a unique spin on a familiar flavor, packing a spoonful of sweet orange notes combined with the classic smooth vanilla Frosty for a dreamy orange cream experience,” a company spokesperson shared with Nation’s Restaurant News. “The eye-catching orange color of this delectable treat was inspired by the spring season.”
But this flavor isn’t just inspired by the treats of our youth. John Lee, Wendy’s global vice president of culinary innovation, told TODAY that this special dessert flavor was also inspired by his favorite fragrance.
“I normally don’t do this, I’ll usually bring in food props, but I actually brought in something else. This is actually the cologne I wear,” Li said while holding a bottle of Sephora’s Tangerine Boy. “Tangerine Boy is a good example because they know that citrus is something that should be celebrated as a part of spring. We take those same exact elements that people are searching for and put it into food form.”
Although the flavor of this one has not yet been revealed, it likely goes well with Wendy’s French fries. It’s unclear how long this limited edition will last, but if you want to try it, you need move quickly to avoid missing out on the first taste of spring.
