Rolling out today, WhatsApp is getting a Wear OS application for all clients after a brief stint in beta.
As WhatsApp confirmed, its Wear OS application is presently generally rolling out to all clients with Wear operating system 3 (and up) smartwatches. That includes devices, for example, Pixel Watch, Universe Watch 4/5, TicWatch Ace 5, as well as watches from Fossil and different brands. However, legacy watches will not be able to use the app because Wear OS 2 users are excluded.
WhatsApp for Wear OS first went live back in May, and was then officially declared at Google I/O.
On Wear OS, WhatsApp clients can see their individual and group chats and both send and reply to messages through their watch. The app supports text, voice, and emoji messages, and even supports voice calls. This all works from a distance in the event that you have a LTE-prepared watch, as well.
Strikingly, WhatsApp doesn’t have an application on the Apple Watch, with Google’s foundation being the first smartwatch platform with official support.
