Last year, North Carolina State declined an invitation to the NIT after missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010, aside from the 2020 contest, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who declined the invitation to NIT 2024?

Following North Carolina’s lead from the previous season, a few teams turned down an invitation to the NIT after the NCAA selection committee rejected them for the Big Dance.

Schools that declined to play in the NIT are Indiana, Memphis, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, St. John’s, and Washington.

When are the NIT and Championship games?

The first round of the NIT tournament begins on Tuesday.

The competition will consist of two first rounds, with the quarter-finals to be held on March 26th and 27th.

The NIT Championship will be played at 7 p.m. Eastern Time April 4th.

Where is the NIT Championship?

The NIT Semifinals and NIT Championship will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This historic venue is home to the Butler Bulldogs basketball team. Built in 1928, it was the largest basketball arena in the country until 1950 and hosted many major events, including his 1954 IHSAA Championship, which was the inspiration for the movie “Hoosiers.”
