Maharashtra Ladki Bahin Yojana Women’s Day 2025

On the eve of International Women’s Day, which is observed on March 8, Cabinet Minister Aditi Tatkare formally announced that the February 2025 instalment under the Ladki Bahin Yojana will be credited to the accounts of eligible beneficiaries by March 7. This is a significant step towards advancing women’s empowerment.

One of Maharashtra’s premier programs, the Ladki Bahin Yojana, aims to increase women’s economic security. The state government continues to put women’s empowerment and welfare first by making sure payments are made on time.

‘Ladki Bahin’ Scheme Reaches 2.5 Crore Women

Minister Tatkare spoke to the media, highlighting the scheme’s massive reach and stating that nearly 2.5 crore women have already benefited. 2.4 crore women were given financial support under the scheme in January alone.

“Our government remains dedicated to empowering women through sustained financial assistance. The upcoming February installment will continue to support eligible beneficiaries across the state,” said Tatkare, reaffirming the administration’s long-term commitment to the initiative.

Cabinet Minister Aditi Tatkare has steadfastly defended the Ladki Bahin Yojana in the face of criticism from opposing parties, highlighting its broad acceptability and success among Maharashtra’s female population.

“The opposition continues to question the program, but the overwhelming support from women proves its effectiveness,” Tatkare stated. She further highlighted that the growing backlash from political rivals reflects their disconnect from the ground reality, especially as the scheme continues to strengthen support for the Maha Yuti alliance.

Ensuring Future Growth & Prompt Fund Distribution

After a special session centered on strategic fund planning, Tatkare provided recipients that the March installment would be distributed on time.

The government’s commitment to women’s economic security was emphasized when she reaffirmed, “Our priority is to ensure that every eligible woman receives financial aid without delays.”

Tatkare also revealed that talks are under process to raise financial aid under the Ladki Bahin plan to ₹2,100, which is a significant possible development. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde continue to discuss whether to approve the proposal.

She also underscored the critical role of self-help groups in fostering financial independence for women, reinforcing the government’s dedication to strengthening women’s participation in economic and social growth.

A Game-Changer for Maha Yuti Govt 2.0

The success of the Ladki Bahin Yojana has played a crucial role in shaping political outcomes, significantly contributing to the Maha Yuti alliance’s victory in the last Assembly Elections, securing 232 seats for BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.

As Maharashtra gears up to celebrate International Women’s Day, the upcoming fund distribution under the Ladki Bahin Yojana marks another milestone in the state’s efforts toward women’s empowerment and financial inclusion.
