The Final Four lineup is set, featuring South Carolina, UCLA, Texas, and UConn ready to compete in Tampa, Florida. South Carolina is making its fifth consecutive Final Four appearance, solidifying its status as one of the sport’s elite programs. In a historic moment, UCLA is celebrating its inaugural trip to the Final Four. Texas returns for the first time since 2003, marking its fourth appearance, while UConn continues to build its legacy with an impressive 24th Final Four showing.

Texas earned its place with a tough, defense-oriented victory over TCU, limiting star player Hailey Van Lith to a mere 3-of-15 shooting and forcing her into seven turnovers. Sedona Prince also faced challenges, scoring only four points and committing two turnovers. On the offensive front, Madison Booker shone for Texas, contributing 18 points, six rebounds, and two steals, securing the Longhorns’ journey to Tampa.

In another matchup, South Carolina, the defending national champion, demonstrated its defensive prowess in a narrow 54-50 victory against Duke. The Gamecocks restricted the Blue Devils to just 31.7% shooting, but their own offensive difficulties nearly jeopardized the win, as none of South Carolina’s guards reached double figures in scoring.

UCLA has made history by reaching its inaugural Final Four, triumphing over LSU with a score of 72-65 in a thrilling contest. Flau’jae Johnson put on an impressive performance, scoring 28 points, while she contemplates whether to enter the 2025 WNBA Draft or return to college. Nevertheless, the Bruins managed to secure the victory.

The leading player for UCLA was star center Lauren Betts, who was a defensive powerhouse, recording six blocks and solidifying the Bruins’ defense in this hard-fought match. With their first Final Four appearance now a reality, UCLA aims to continue its remarkable journey on the grand stage in Tampa.

UConn stands out as the sole No. 2 seed in the Final Four, bringing a wealth of experience to Tampa. With an impressive 11 national championships, the Huskies hold the title of the most successful program in women’s college basketball history. Although they haven’t claimed the trophy since 2016, their remarkable achievement of reaching 15 out of the last 16 Final Fours showcases their consistent excellence at the top level.

Their journey to Tampa featured a decisive 78-64 win against No. 1 seed USC, highlighted by Paige Bueckers’ outstanding 31-point performance. The Trojans were missing their star player, JuJu Watkins, due to a knee injury, and the Huskies capitalized on this opportunity to secure their spot in the national semifinals.

The Final Four matchups are now confirmed: Texas will take on South Carolina, while UCLA will face UConn for a chance to compete in the national championship game.
