Wonka wins $39.0 million and the Golden Ticket at the domestic weekend box office

With a $39.0 million win in its premiere, Wonka has secured the golden ticket at the domestic weekend box office.

Wonka is currently sitting at $151.4 million at the global box office, having earned an additional $53.6 million overseas, according to Comscore.

Wonka’s $56.1 million North American opening was not nearly as successful as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s 2005 premiere.
