NBC’s legendary WWE series “Saturday Night’s Main Event” has a premiere date.
Variety has learned that the professional wrestling series will air live on NBC on December 14th at 8pm ET and will be simulcast on Peacock. The show will air from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York, where the first-ever Saturday Night’s Main Event took place in 1985.
WWE has also released the first promotional video for the show, which you can watch below.
Pre-sales for the event will begin on September 19th at 10AM ET. Fans can register now on the WWE website to receive exclusive pre-sale offers.
Tickets will go on sale on September 20th at 10AM ET via Ticketmaster. Priority Pass is now available through a partnership between WWE and On Location. Passes offer premium seating, hosting events with WWE stars, exclusive photo opportunities and more.
This is the first of four quarterly WWE primetime specials on NBC, and was first shown when WWE signed a new five-year rights deal with NBCUniversal to bring WWE’s weekly series “SmackDown” back to USA Network. “SmackDown” returned to USA Network on September 13 after airing on FOX since 2019. Peacock also continues to be the live streaming home of WWE’s premium live events in the United States, including upcoming events such as “Bad Blood” and “Crown Jewel”.
“Saturday Night’s Main Event” originally aired in NBC’s late-night slot during weeks when “Saturday Night Live” did not have a new episode. Between 1985 and 1991, the network aired nearly 30 episodes. The show was later aired for two more episodes on Fox in 1992. It was previously revived for five more episodes on NBC from 2006 to 2008.
