CM Punk’s comeback at Survivor Series received over 71 million views on all of the sports entertainment company’s social media channels during Thanksgiving weekend, setting a new record for WWE.
The 37-year-old Survivor Series, a high-end live event, was staged on Saturday at Chicago’s Allstate Arena. His arrival at the WWE event after over ten years away from the industry stunned almost everyone, and many flocked to social media to discuss it. However, CM Punk’s ardent supporters had been talking the possibility of his return to the organisation for weeks.
According to WWE, the comeback moment has received over 71 million views on all platforms, making it the most popular social media post in the company’s history, as of Tuesday. The previous record was set by Logan Paul’s handheld video from a match last year, in which he leaped from the ropes. In less than a day, that video received over 40 million views on Paul’s and WWE’s social media accounts.
According to WWE, a division of TKO Group Holdings, sponsorship revenue for Survivor Series increased by 24% over the previous year. Viewership broke the previous year’s record by 44%. The event drew 17,138 people in attendance, breaking the previous record set in Brooklyn in 2021.
WWE made the announcement earlier this month that it will be working with the Big 12 for this Saturday’s conference championship match as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with other sports organisations.
A custom-made WWE championship title belt will be awarded to the most exceptional player in the match as part of the agreement, and the pitch and stadium will be decorated with the WWE X Big 12 insignia. Additionally, the Big 12 Conference and WWE will work together to create a line of Big 12 championship memorabilia that will be sold at the stadium’s team stores and online.
AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will host the Dr. Pepper Big 12 championship on Saturday.
